Spring's Promises

Today is the last Wednesday of August which signifies two things:
1. Last day of Winter (for those in the southern hemisphere). Delightful sunshine and happiness that Spring brings is literally just around the corner!

2. La Tomatina Festival in Spain!!

In honour of today, I thought I'd share with you this beautiful video I recently stumbled upon while looking for the ideal pair of RayBans. It was a video for the "Never Hide" Ray-Ban campaign. After watching it I went out and bought myself a pair of Wayfarers (the newer versions - talk about successful marketing), created a bucket list (top of that list is to attend the Tomatina Festival through Busabout this time next year) and promised myself to find joy in the most simplest things (like riding a bike through the streets on a sunny day). Note to self: buy a bike!

Outfit Post: The Stepford Wife

In my previous post I told you about my friend's hen's night. Her wedding is in four days!

The theme we chose was "Stepford Wives". Perfect match for high tea with such fine ladies. In my mad rush to find an outfit (two nights before - I really do need to stop leaving things at the last minute) I, no kidding, literally stopped when I saw this beautiful dress from Cue. I think my heart may have skipped a beat. The white/yellow/beige floral print was simply too delicate to say no to. The pleats on the sleeve; the cinched in waist. I was in love. A quick order for it to be hemmed and it was mine. (I'm just realising now that half or maybe 3/4 of my wardrobe is from Cue - obsessed much?) To complete the outfit I added a string of pearls and a pearl/bow head piece from Diva.

I could certainly see myself cleaning the house in this outfit. haha :)

Love Is In The Air

This year I hit 25!!
A milestone! Crack open the bubbly!

Not only have I reached a quarter of a century but it has suddenly dawned on me that wedding season has begun. I recently attended my friend's engagement party, and another dear friend's hens night (her wedding is next week!). Both fabulous events, both frantically figuring out what to wear! I was also over the moon to hear I would be a bridesmaid for both upcoming weddings, yet again! Don't get me wrong...

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WEDDINGS!
I am literally a kid at a candy store when it comes to weddings and my friends know it!

Trinkets & Treasures

My house mate and I recently conquered the daunting task of swapping rooms.
His fiancée (one of my BFFs in the world) moved out of our humble abode to travel to Singapore to pursue her PHD in one of the top schools (INSEAD). Not only did I have to overcome her quirky essence being absent from our home but I had to also sort through my "mountain of stuff"; both trinkets from my travels and treasures I have found over the years (clothing of course). Devising the best strategy to move them from one place to another. Positive thing was that I was able to relocate them to a wardrobe twice the size. Upgrade!
With help from iTunes we were done in one day!

always best to ensure your wardrobe looks like the inside of a store

Embrace the Child Within

The Brisbane Ekka has come around once again!
A time for fun, laughter and fully embracing the beauty of our youth.
Time stops for these moments; while reality  and responsibilities goes on a brief vacation.

Thanks for the memories Lara!

Chocolate Truffles..mmm

Good things must come to an end...eventually.
Our last stop before the trip back to London was Bruges. Unfortunately we were only in this magnificent city for a few hours, but it was enough to entice me to come back to explore and discover her delicious secrets.
Until next time Europe I say "au revoir"

I Amsterdam

Amsterdam, she quite literally throws out the rule book. They merely become loose guidelines. She turns a blind eye. She actively participates. She seeks her own path without question, without judgement, without a care in the world. Everything goes in Amsterdam! She's quite the role model really.

Saints vs Sinners

Known as the "golden city of spires" Prague has architectural splendours that span a thousand years. From Medieval to Baroque to Renaissance styled churches such visual beauty would lead you to believe they were created from a divine source rather than the mere mortal.

However, where there is light there is darkness lingering close by. The night life in Prague oozes mischief and temptation! If you are willing let your desires guide you to Karlovy Lazny - the 5-Storey Night Club. With five levels; five music genres you'll never want to leave. I guess that's the magic of Prague!!

Tears for Humanity

Poland...Krakow & Auschwitz.
A very sobering visit. I found myself feeling waves of emotion from grief, disbelief, sadness, anger. Yet despite it all a sense of hope still lingers. Can we, as a society, learn from the past? Only time will tell.

Breathe. Relax. Let Go.

BudaPest: did she exceed my expectations? Numerous times! With countless spas and baths available it was time to immerse myself in me time! You know you've spent your money well when your Hungarian masseuse has to resort to gently waking you when time's up. Amazing! I felt like I was on cloud 9. Highly recommend it - Szechenyi Bath & Spas - the oldest and largest thermal baths in Pest. Sometimes all you need is a little self indulgence to recharge.

The Royal Treatment

Luxury. History. Culture - Vienna in three words.
Marie Antoinette's childhood playground; and what a playground it was. From endless palace gardens to the musical talents of Strauss and Mozart - Vienna was simply breathtaking.
